How to find a IT job in Asia?
Hi all, I would like to work/emigrate outside Holland. I want to find work around South East Asia. What is the best way to start searching en finding a job. What i do: I work at the moment as support/provisioning employee at France telecom. Im learning to get more knowledge for other jobs. Second question: What is also a job in IT they need everywhere...and can use someone from different country. I know support offcourse but what more. Alright Thx Richard

What do you do when your boyfriend has to move overseas for work?
My bf and I have been in a LD relationship for a year but we manage to see each other every weekend. He recently got an amazing job offer with great pay. The problem is that it's a 10-month contract and it's in Holland. His plan is to go, get some experience and tons of money and come back and get married. I'm happy for him and we trust each together, but I'm scared that something will happen to prevent our dream from happening.

Moving even further away is scary for anybody in a relationship. Stay in touch through emails, webcam chats, phone calls, etc. Fly out there to see him sometime if you ever get the chance. It will be a long ten months, but in the end when he does return, you will be all the more grateful to see him.

It will only hurt you to think about the what ifs. You have to focus on the now. The job is only for ten months and you have been in the for a year. If he stays behind to make you feel secure he may resist you from keeping him from doing something he wants to do. If you are happy for him and your trust your relationship you just have to hope for the best and make sure to keep in contact with him as often as possible. This could be a good experience for him. It will be hard not having the same kind of contact but if you remain positive it will work. If you get sad you will unknowingly take it out on him and then when you talk it will be hard to keep that negative feeling from getting in the way of your relationship.

I myself could never be in a long distance relationship, so I commend you for being able to do so. I can only imagine how difficult it is, but what you need to do is just not get yourself paranoid about anything while he's away, and keep that strong trust you have for him. Remember everyday without him is one closer to seeing him again :)

when he leave you for his work ,you should said to him believe him and let him go ,because it is necessary experience for you ,but you have to stay in touch through emails ,phone,skype ,etc. I think you should tell him there is someone have been attract on you , he will have a hyper tension for you .it is important for you to be peaceful to wait for him ,believe me ,there is no problem for you so love him to wait for him if you love him so much ,good luck with you .

Is it possible for an American citizen to look for work in the Netherlands, while in America
Is it possible for an American citizen to look for work in the Netherlands, while in America?
I was in the Netherlands last year and I know there is a lack of jobs there. I would love to return Holland,as I agree with their lifestyle and politics there (not to mention the wonderful people). However, I don't want to go there without a set-up job. And I would like to look for jobs, anywhere EXCEPT Amsterdam (or maybe I shouldn't be so picky just yet) or Den Haag or Rotterdam (those towns didn't seem as safe). I prefer quaint towns like Utrecht, Amerfoort (sp?), Arnhem etc, where people seem to look out for one another and I would feel safe. Oh, I also want to work for/with the native Dutch . I don't want to go there and be surrounded by foreigners (otherwise, what's the point of moving to a foreign country if you don't immerse yourself in that culture and try to learn about it?). I eventually want to learn the language. Any ideas of where I can look? Who I can contact? Thanks in advance. PS. I have a grad degree, so I do have some qualifications. By the way, I might add.....I didn't vote for Bush. I detest him :)

That last bit did it for me :) . Actually you can look on www.monsterboard.nl, even comes in english. You can specify type of jobs, location etc. Big problem will be for youthe work and residence permit. You will need these, and especially the work permit will not be just handed out. Only if you have a 'link' to the netherlands (family or partner) or if you have specific skills an employer can not find locally you have a chance. Otherwise it will be extremely difficult. But if you manage - welcome!

We use to have the arbeidsburo, it is called the CWI now(centrum werk en inkomen), contact them. By the way, in general the people of Holland are pro Bush, we have troops in Afghanistan.

Heck you don't even need a degree for that. You could be clog shoe maker. Id like to go to Netherlands, can i go with you. I would suggest studying Dutch before you go as well - the language is not all that difficult coming from English, and it certainly raises your ability to find a good job there. Another option is starting a business - it is much easier to establish residency in that case - if you've got the funds to do it, I'd suggest researching that option - perhaps find a Dutch partner to work with? I'm dying to move there too!

Holland vs germany which is better for life and work?
I currently have the option of doing my PhD with Max Planck/DFKI or at TU Eindhoven with Phillips. I have lived in germany for sometime so i speak a bit of german as well. However i like socializing and enjoy diversity of people and friends. some how i feel the germans are really conservative especially outside of the university culture.Since I want this to be more like a permanent move for the next couple of years I need your suggestion. I have heard that holland is more relaxed and english speaking. Also that the community is much more liberal. Please advice on the life style differences and job prospects in two countries with view to above. Cheers

You hit the cultures right on as far as Germany being conservative as where Holland is more liberal. Even with that said, I lived in Germany for 3 years and LOVED every minute of it.
