Im going on a cruise from seattle to alaska on the boat ( I believe) Amsterdam, and I was told that there is a swinging bed in the room we are staying in. My father is working with Holland America, and is there this bed?

Do you perhaps mean a "swing bed"? If so, that just means that there are two beds that can be made up as two separate beds or put together as one large bed. Or, it can mean a pull-down bed in the ceiling.
