i want to get a visa to stay in holland for 6 months

i want to get a visa to stay in holland for 6 months?
without a visa i can stay for up to 3 months. next time i go, i would like to stay for about 6 months to visit my boyfriend (who is dutch). i would be staying with him, but not working. is it possible to get a visa that isn't connected with work and/or education? what do i need to do?

There is an option for people to apply for a longer term visa for family for up to 6 months http://www.ind.nl/EN/verblijfwijzer/verblijfwijzer_mijnsituatie.asp?proc=komen&procedure=Visiting relatives&land=United States&duur=1&intro=procedure&lang=en However as it is mentioned here, it does not include the classificaiton of a partner unless you are married or in a registered partnership. If you are then this is the obvious option. There must be documented evidence to prove your status and also proof that he is able to support you financially http://www.ind.nl/EN/verblijfwijzer/verblijfwijzer_mijnsituatie.asp?proc=komen&procedure=Visiting relatives&procedurestapnaam=Conditions&land=United States&duur=1&lang=en The other visa pertains to family formation with yoru bf and is on the basis of you staying permanently in the Netherlands but not just for 6 months so is not really an option Otherwise it might be the best solution for you (or better him) to give the IND a ring directly and they can give advice on your situation http://www.ind.nl/EN/algemeen/contact/informatielijn/index.asp?lang=en&subhome=&title=&origin=

I think is not possible. You only can stay for 90 days, go back to your country, wait 3 months, than you can come back for 90 days again.
