When dating, or in a relationship with someone from a very different cultural background, how do you make things work? I`m not referring to differences in skin color, for your neighbor could be a different color, but have the same background. But really, like someone from the USA and someone from France. Or someone from Holland, and someone from Venezuela. Anyone have experience and/or advice?

Respond using the mathematical strategy of "tit for tat"... expect good first, and give good first. Communication is the largest barrier. Learn how to learn how to communicate. Read "A lasting promise" because the first four chapters discuss how couples deceive themselves into thinking they are communicating when in fact they arent - then it gives ways to get to real communication. Learn to have fun together and do the things that fill each others hearts ... both today and for the long term.

You have to be attracted to each other first. Then everything else falls into place. You will learn from each other. I've dated chicks from every Continent except Australia and Antarctica.

What you have to do is take the time to study about each others cultural differences and backgrounds. That's the only one way to understand one another and get along.You have to make exceptions for one another also and give and take both ways..

well, its like any relationship.... no matter what the differences... i think differences are good and keep the relationship going.... dont worry too much about differences.... if both of you are committed in building a life together different cultural heritage should not matter!

It makes abserlutly no difference what so ever as long as you can understand each other then love always finds a way of sorting the rest of it out. Remember 97% bof the world beleave in one GOD it makes no difference what way we choose to praise his name there is only one God. If you think along thoses lines then you can't go wrong.
