My boyfriend works in Holland. He's going to be moving back home in a few months and we plan on getting married sometime next year. He's making a short trip over here in a few weeks to meet my mom and family...and likewise Im gonna meet his. I cant go over to meet his mom and not take a gift, other than flowers whats a nice thing to take along? And what do i write in the card?

Try to go for something for her home, that way it will tie you in as family. Maybe something as simple as a nice photograph of you and him together in a nice frame. Ask your boyfriend what she likes and try to go from there. Perhaps there is something else of meaning to you and your boyfriend that you could share with her to make her feel like you want her to be a part of your lives together. As far as the card goes, depending on what you choose, you can write something along the lines of, Looking forward to becoming a part of your family. Or, Glad to have finally met my new found mom. Something nice yet suttle. Good luck! And like I said try to get your boyfriend to clue you in on her likes and dislikes so you can get something that will say Hello nice to finally meet you!
